Root Vegetable Side With Hot Sauce by MAMA HALLA

Ingredients

Cooking oil (1 TBSP)

Potatoes/Radish/Butternut squash/Parsnip (200g)

Soy sauce (1 TBSP)

Korean hot sauce (2 TBSP)

Water (100ml)

Optional: Spring onion (½)

How to make

  1. Cut root vegetable into bitesize chunks, chop spring onion, and set both aside. 

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan. 

  3. Add root vegetable and cook until half cooked. 

  4. Put in soy sauce, Korean hot sauce and water. 

  5. Stir occasionally until root vegetable is fully cooked and sauce becomes sticky. (*Add more water if it become too dry, but make sure to cook until sauce become sticky again.) 

  6. Sprinkle with spring onion and serve with main dish (e.g. chicken/pork/sausages/fish).
