Hamburger with Hot Sauce by MAMA HALLA

Hamburger with Hot Sauce by MAMA HALLA

Preparation Time

30 minutes

Ingredients

Minced beef (20%+ fat: 200g)

Salt and pepper (pinch of)

Sliced onions (1/2)

Cooking oil (1 TBSP)

Cheese of choice (1-2 slices)

Lightly toasted hamburger buns (1)

Lettuce (1-2 piece)

Hot Sauce (1-2 TBSP)

How to make

  1. Use hands to form minced beef into patty of the size of your bread roll. 

  2. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides. 

  3. Heat cooking oil in a pan or BBQ over high heat, add onion and cook until caramelised, season with salt and pepper, then remove. 

  4. Heat cooking oil until smoking, add patty and cook for 2 minutes until deep golden with a great crust. (Do not press!) 

  5. Flip carefully, cook for 1 minute then top with cheese (if using). 

  6. Cover with lid and cook for further 1 minute until cheese is melted.

  7. Meanwhile, toast the cut side of the bread roll lightly. 

  8. Spread base of rolls with hot sauce and top with lettuce, hamburger, onions. 

  9. Top with other half of the bread roll and serve immediately.
