Chicken/Mackerel/Pork with Hot Sauce by MAMA HALLA

MAMA HALLA is a purveyor of natural Korean condiments. All our recipes and values originate from the founder’s home island of Jeju, a part of Korea famous for its unique natural landscape and spirit.

This is a nice quick, simple and tasty dish that can be put together in around 30mins.

Ingredients

Cooking oil (1 TBSP)

Chicken breast/thigh fillets (200g): Or, mackerel fillets/pork belly/pork loin 

Onion (Medium: ½) 

Carrot (Medium: ½) 

Spring onion (½) 

Soy sauce (1 TBSP) 

Korean hot sauce (2 TBSP) 

Water (100ml)

How to make

  1. Chop onion, carrot, chicken fillets, spring onion into bitesize chunks, and set aside. 

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan. 

  3. Add chicken fillets. 

  4. When chicken’s is half cooked, add onion and carrots and cook for 3 min. 

  5. Add soy sauce, Korean hot sauce, and water. 

  6. Stir occasionally until chicken is fully cooked and sauce becomes sticky. 

  7. Sprinkle with spring onion and serve.

*Put a little more water if it become too dry, but make sure to cook until sauce become sticky again.
